Lorraine

IN LOVING MEMORY OF LORRAINE C. CORBETT, THE MOST WONDERFUL WIFE, MOTHER, SISTER, GRANDMOTHER, NEICE AND FRIEND.

Lorraine went home to be with our Lord on Monday morning, November 2, 2009. Lorraine was born October 11, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Fernandina Beach, FL in 1976.

Lorraine had so much to offer and spread so much love and devotion while in this world and she will be deeply missed by all.

She was a very dedicated Christian and devoted to her loving husband, her family and friends.

Her musical talents were apparent in her home parish, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church where she was active in the choir, played guitar during Folk Masses and worked with the children’s choir.

She was also a Sunday School teacher for the high school students for many years and was a former Senior Warden of the church. Lorraine was an active tennis player playing in various leagues and clubs in Amelia Island and also in Jacksonville.

For the past 30 years she owned and operated Southern Touch, a popular gift shop on Centre Street in downtown Fernandina Beach. As owner of Southern Touch she developed many artistic talents such as drawing, painting, and needlework and used those talents to produce gifts that were purchased and enjoyed by many.

She loved kids, especially her three grandchildren and like her two sons and husband was an avid fan of the University of Florida Gators. She will be remembered most for her bright smile and quick wit.
