There is nothing that goes better with barbeque than football. Join us for the Inaugural Great Southern Tailgate Cook-Off to be held Friday August 27 and Saturday August 28 on Amelia Island.
More than 40 cooking teams from across the country will compete for up to $20,000 in cash and prizes. The cook-off will be sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and is a Florida State Championship event.
Amelia Island will be kicking off the Cook-off with a “Best Decorated” Team Booth and a People’s Choice contest, which guests can sample great BBQ from our Backyard teams.
Attendees can also enjoy delicious southern delicacies from several barbeque vendors and live music from the best area bands.
The event kicks off at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at Main Beach on Amelia Island.
This event is FREE to the public.
Profits from the Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off will benefit the Gator Bowl Foundation.
