What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that removes the outermost layer of damaged skin to reveal the underlying younger, firmer skin.
This is performed using a small wand like instrument connected to a machine that blows extremely small crystals against the skin and then vacuums those crystals away along with the damaged skin that was removed during this process.
Anesthesia is not required as the microdermabrasion treatment is relatively painless other than a minor tingling as the crystals remove the damaged skin.
Microdermabrasion is an effective treatment for all skin types, is virtually risk free from side effects other than minor redness immediately following treatment and does not require a recuperation period.
Is Microdermabrasion right for you?
Persons who suffer from oily skin, subtle wrinkles, sun damage, are prone to acne, have age spots or hyper-pigmentation are candidates for microdermabrasion treatment.
What to expect:
Before we perform microdermabrasion treatments, patients are evaluated to determine eligibility for the microdermabrasion procedure.
Once you have been approved for the procedure, you should expect the procedure to take roughly thirty minutes to one hour depending on the area of skin being treated, the condition of your skin, and the desired results.
